So, the new website is ready!
Working in the ‘aesthetic’ industry where how things look is paramount I can’t stress enough how important the IMAGE really IS.
I strongly believe that ‘what you see is what you get’ and it DOES IMPACT all other marketing efforts of your business.
Let me share an example here.
RS Studio is a profitable and quite successful enterprise specialising in training. The management decided to run an event which would enable the business to promote itself locally and create an image of a professional and innovative training organisation. Most efforts and resources went to organise the venue, the speakers, the catering, the guest experience but………..the success seems to have lasted only for the day of the event and it disappeared as soon as the last conference guest left the venue.
Yes, there was Jessica taking a few photos here and there with her iPhone but because Jessica is project coordinator not a professional photographer her expertise was not in creating meaningful and best quality images.
Unfortunately, very common one – the event cannot be shared and remembered well after it’s finished. The conference, however successful it might have been, cannot be used as a promotional material to attract more participants the next time around because the images that were taken at the back of the room by the project coordinator with her iPhone simply de-promote, deform and greatly undermine the event’s success.
Some shabby, unclear, chaotic and blurred frames tell a shabby, chaotic and blurred story from a successful event. Not worth it, is it?
I struggle to understand why so much $$$ is allocated to sandwiches and water (that will disappear quickly!) but never any for a professional photographer who will create a meaningful, lasting and interesting marketing material to promote the business and its future events.
